Position Summary

The Patient Services Representative serves as the primary point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing front-office operations. This role is responsible for patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, workers' compensation referrals, prior authorizations, and maintaining accurate patient records. The ideal candidate has recent outpatient medical office experience and hands-on experience processing Workers' Compensation referrals.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous Workers' Compensation referral experience is required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in an outpatient clinic or medical office.
• Experience with medical insurance verification, benefit plans, referrals, and authorizations.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed oral and written instructions.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using CS-Link/Epic electronic medical records.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients in person and by phone.
• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service while addressing concerns or escalating issues as needed.
• Perform patient check-in and check-out procedures.
• Collect copayments, issue receipts, and reconcile daily payments.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and benefit information using CS-Link/Epic.
• Schedule patient appointments and complete patient registration.
• Process and track Workers' Compensation referrals, insurance referrals, and prior authorizations.
• Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and insurance companies.
• Explain clinic policies, procedures, and services to patients.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and electronic medical records.
• Sanitize workstations and maintain a clean work environment in accordance with department guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
