Position Overview
As the Regional Director of Operations, you will provide strategic leadership and hands-on operational oversight across multiple multispecialty medical practices within assisted living facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring consistent clinical support operations, staff performance, training excellence, and high-quality care delivery in partnership with facility leadership and medical providers.
The ideal candidate is a proven healthcare leader with prior medical / healthcare supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage and support teams across multiple locations. This position requires mostly local Los Angeles travel with some possible northern or southern CA travel, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide operational leadership and oversight across multiple assisted living facilities, ensuring consistent workflows, standards, and quality of service delivery.
• Supervise, manage, and support teams of medical assistants / office managers, including scheduling, performance management, coaching, and professional development.
• Lead the training, onboarding, and ongoing education of team members as well as ensuring competency, consistency, and adherence to organizational and clinical standards.
• Serve as a hands-on resource for medical assistants, leveraging prior clinical experience to support best practices and effective patient care workflows.
• Monitor staffing levels across facilities and collaborate with leadership to address coverage needs, productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Utilize and support effective documentation and workflow processes within EMR systems, including training medical assistants on system use and best practices.
• Conduct regular site visits to facilities and assess operations, support staff, identify challenges, and implement solutions in real time.
• Collaborate with providers, facility leadership, and internal teams to ensure smooth daily operations and a strong staff and patient experience.
• Identify operational gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement; implement process enhancements to support scalability and quality outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, facility policies, and organizational standards across all assigned locations.
• Promote a positive, team-oriented culture by modeling professionalism, accountability, adaptability, and a solutions-focused mindset.
• Support leadership initiatives and contribute to organizational growth through effective communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration.’
• Generating and submitting reports to COO.
Qualifications & Experience
• Prior healthcare experience in a supervisory role, with a strong understanding of clinical workflows in assisted living, post-acute, or clinic based environments.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, including managing and training multiple medical assistants across locations.
• Experience working with EMR systems , including documentation and staff training.
• Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree in healthcare administration, business or a related field.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly and manage operations across multiple facilities.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills; collaborative and team-oriented approach.
• Positive attitude, adaptability, and a hands-on leadership style.
