Step into a rewarding contract opportunity shaping young minds as a General Education Teacher for fifth and sixth grade students, focusing on English Language Arts and History. Based near Galt, CA, this role provides the chance to engage with students for the upcoming academic year, from August 5, 2026, through June 3, 2027. Work a consistent 35 hours per week in a supportive school environment and help foster academic growth and curiosity in upper-elementary learners.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, active CTC (California Commission on Teacher Credentialing) licensure is required.
- Experience teaching upper elementary or middle grades, particularly in ELA and History, is highly desirable.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create engaging lesson plans.
- Passion for student development and the ability to connect with a diverse classroom.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, parents, and colleagues.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver effective ELA and History lessons for fifth and sixth grade students.
- Differentiate instruction to meet a range of learning styles and abilities.
- Assess and track student progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Create a positive, inclusive environment that supports academic and personal growth.
- Communicate regularly with parents and school staff regarding student achievements and concerns.
- Participate in professional development and school activities as required.
