Job Description
Our Irvine-based litigation firm is seeking a Legal Assistant with litigation experience to support our insurance defense team. Our firm offers a friendly, fast-paced environment. Qualified candidates should have 3 year minimum of recent litigation experience as a legal assistant /paralegal in a law firm setting. Responsibilities include:
- Filing court documents; Managing client relationships; Corresponding with various agencies/entities and clients; Scheduling events; Assisting attorneys with various tasks; Printing, sorting and assembling documents; and other general office duties.
- Communicating with clients, vendors, courts, and other third-parties.
- Scheduling/calendar maintenance and managing case deadlines.
- Experience with transcribing dictation is a must.
- Assist counsel with deposition preparation.
- Managing trial preparation i.e., coordination of witnesses and travel, trial documents, trial exhibits, charts, trial notebooks, subpoenas, and page lines.
Requirements:
- Team player and self-starter with strong analytical and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Paralegal certificate and/or associates degree is a plus, but not required for this position.
