PT - Inpatient Acute Care

Job Details:
\n
• 8-hour day shifts with varied start times: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM, 9:30 AM–6:00 PM, or 10:30 AM–7:00 PM
\n• Tuesday through Saturday schedule
\n• Day off provided during the week when a weekend shift is worked
\n• Schedules created by staffing management and posted approximately one month or more in advance
\n• Inpatient acute care setting covering all areas of the hospital including med/surg, tele, and ICU units
\n• Must have at least 2 years of experience in acute care physical therapy
\n• Must have experience with orthopedics and total joints, ICU, ventilated patients, med/surg, and oncology
\n• Will treat a wide variety of patient populations including a large cardiology and cardiac surgery population
\n• May be required to provide therapy for ventilated patients in the ICU
\n• May require working a Saturday or Sunday depending on the weekend schedule
\n• All staff required to work holidays
\n• Dress code: Burgundy polo with dark-colored dress pants; lab coat optional
\n• EMR system: Cerner
\n• No floating required for inpatient; outpatient staff may be required to float to inpatient
\n• Very brief floor-specific orientation, typically one day or less
\n• Must be able to hit the ground running
\n• Required certifications: BLS Certification
\n• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or up to 3 shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks

Facility:

This acute care facility operates both inpatient and outpatient physical therapy services, with two outpatient locations in close proximity to the main hospital. The inpatient program covers all acute care areas including med/surg, telemetry, and ICU, and supports a robust cardiology and cardiac surgery population. The facility is supported by 24/7 respiratory therapy, on-site pharmacy services until 10:00 PM with after-hours on-call pharmacist access, and hospitalist and intensivist coverage during daytime hours.
