  • Conduct factual and legal research and prepare memoranda analyzing complex IP issues, including patent infringement/validity, trademark and copyright claims, and trade secret misappropriation.
  • Coordinate with outside and in-house counsel, client teams, and expert witnesses to develop litigation strategy and technical positions.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and administrative proceedings (including ITC and USPTO-related matters where applicable).
  • Assist in pre-litigation counseling and due diligence related to IP enforcement, licensing, and portfolio management.
  • Manage case budgets, timelines, and document review workflows, and mentor junior associates and paralegals.
  • Stay current on developments in IP law and practice, and contribute to business development and client pitches.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of litigation experience with a focus on intellectual property matters; experience as an associate at a law firm preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in courtroom advocacy, motion practice, and managing discovery in complex cases.
  • Strong understanding of patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret law; familiarity with ITC and USPTO procedures is a plus.
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working with technical experts and understanding of patent claim construction and infringement analysis; prior experience in patent cases is desirable.
  • Self-motivated, client-focused, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and mentor junior lawyers; strong ethical judgment and professionalism.
