About the Company


We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Trial Attorney to manage a semi-autonomous caseload involving complex, high-exposure civil litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience handling civil defense litigation from inception through appeal and a proven track record of courtroom success.


About the Role


Manage all aspects of civil litigation, including case assessment, discovery, depositions, motion practice, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, courtroom advocacy, and post-trial proceedings.


Responsibilities


  • Gather, organize, and analyze documents, evidence, and legal research for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trials.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare summaries regarding relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
  • Interview clients and witnesses, prepare case summaries, and maintain accurate communication records.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
  • Monitor changes in applicable laws and regulations and advise clients regarding potential impacts on active matters.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients and provide case status updates.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations regarding significant case developments.


Qualifications


  • Minimum of eight (8) years of civil litigation defense experience handling cases from inception through appeal.
  • First-chair trial experience, including multiple jury and bench trials taken to verdict in California State Superior Court.
