DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher for a 4-hour-per-month in-person school-based position in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to identify students' educational and communication needs.
- Develop and support Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Provide direct services and consultation to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Recommend appropriate accommodations and assistive technology to support student success.
- Monitor and document student progress toward established goals.
- Collaborate with families and related service providers to support student development.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all applicable state and federal requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field.
- Valid California DHH Teaching Credential or appropriate state certification.
- Experience working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing is preferred.
- Knowledge of IEP development and educational best practices.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is preferred but not required, depending on district needs.
