Job Title: Fabrication Foreman / Technician (TIG Welding, Fabrication & Assembly)Job Description
This role focuses on building hardware used in advanced industrial environments through high-quality TIG welding, precision fabrication, and mechanical assembly. You will fabricate components, weld and assemble systems, operate manual machine tools, and support commissioning of production equipment while following strict safety, quality, and documentation standards in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, and specialty alloys, including joint preparation, fit-up, and producing consistent welds on thin sheet and tube
- Fabricate brackets, frames, enclosures, and fixtures from engineering drawings by cutting, bending, drilling, tapping, and finishing components
- Operate manual machine shop equipment including mills, lathes, drill presses, bandsaws, and grinders for machining and rework
- Assemble mechanical and pneumatic subsystems (flanges, valves, fittings, seals, sensors, and wiring routing)
- Read and interpret drawings and bills of materials; verify tolerances using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Execute standard operating procedures for builds, inspections, leak checks, and pressure testing; document all work performed
- Support prototype builds, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to processes and designs
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while following safety procedures related to welding, lifting, and compressed gases
- Work independently and collaboratively to meet build timelines and quality standards
- Partner with engineering and team members to improve fabrication methods and product quality
Required Skills
- TIG welding experience on thin sheet and tubing (stainless steel preferred)
- Hands-on fabrication experience using standard shop tools
- Basic machining experience with manual mills and lathes
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and follow build procedures
- Experience holding tolerances and performing dimensional inspections
- Familiarity with CAD tools for basic markups (preferred but not required)
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation practices
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Commitment to safety and adherence to established protocols
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience assembling industrial equipment such as reactors, furnaces, or vacuum systems
- Welding certifications (e.g., AWS or equivalent)
- Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 10 or OSHA 30)
- Experience supporting prototype builds and process improvements
Work Environment
This position operates in a shop and production setting focused on metal fabrication and equipment assembly. Daily work includes use of welding equipment, manual machining tools, and fabrication machinery. Tasks may involve hot work, lifting and rigging, and handling compressed gases, all performed in accordance with established safety guidelines. The environment emphasizes organization, safety, and consistent execution of processes.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
