Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time contract role runs through the 2026-2027 academic year and is located in the vibrant Sonoma area, just a short distance from Novato, CA. You’ll join a collaborative team dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of students from 9th to 12th grade, developing individualized instruction and managing a diverse caseload.
Your expertise as a Special Education Teacher will be vital in providing tailored support, fostering a nurturing classroom, and implementing learning strategies for a high school population. Collaboration and communication are key, as you’ll interact daily with faculty, families, and support staff to develop and monitor IEPs and promote student independence.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active CTC credential: ESN, M/S, or equivalent required
- Certified in Special Education for moderate to severe disabilities
- Previous high school teaching experience (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of IEP process and compliance requirements
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans based on student needs
- Administer assessments and monitor student progress
- Collaborate with families, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams
- Adapt curriculum materials and instructional practices to foster engagement and learning
- Maintain detailed documentation in accordance with school and state special education guidelines
- Support classroom aides and paraeducators
