Art Class Instructor - Seasonal Per Diem Position.

This recruitment is to create an ELIGIBILITY LIST to backfill the Art Teacher role as vacancies occur.

Job Summary

Paint Hive Studio is seeking a passionate and creative Afterschool Art Class Teacher to lead engaging art sessions for K-6 students. This role is designed for individuals who love art, enjoy working with children, and want to teach fun, creative, and engaging art ideas in an after-school setting.

The teacher will be responsible for implementing structured STEAM-based lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and ensuring a fun, safe, and inspiring environment for students. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your artistic talents to life while making a meaningful impact on young artists!

Responsibilities:

Implement a comprehensive curriculum that covers a variety of art mediums, techniques, and styles
Provide hands-on instruction and demonstrations to help students develop their artistic skills and techniques
Encourage creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking in students
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve
Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment
Collaborate with other instructors and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective art program
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
General knowledge of the practices used in art instruction; ability to communicate effectively with students and teachers; skill in the use of classroom and instructional materials.
Ability to foster a fun and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
Knowledge of child behavior and learning patterns.
Ability to work with children and remain friendly, calm, and patient at all times.
Image documentation - Collaborate with the team to create visually appealing graphics and videos that showcase our After School Art Program and other services. (Photos of children's faces are STRICTLY PROHIBITED)

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Arts, Art Education, or a related field
Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching art to students of various ages and skill levels, from k-7th grade.
Proficiency in a variety of art mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, and mixed media
