Technical Writer - III
Location: Remote USA
Contract Duration: 1 year
Contract Type: W2 through Staffing Supplier
Pay Rate: $63/hr

Works hands-on on projects of moderate scope and high/moderate complexity to gather raw text-based inputs from subject-matter experts to prepare easy-to-understand technical user guides/manuals, trainings and methodology documents containing text, data, drawings and charts. Executes according to defined workflow to publish error-free documents.
Plans/manages/executes technical documentation projects related to specific product offerings. Leads the project as an expert technical writer handling illustrations and XML editors (DITA editing with tools like oXygen), and works with a small to large group of content contributors to deliver specific documentation output.
Analyzes and interprets data to determine the appropriate syntax, style and grammatical usage in the documentation project. Recommends and implements changes to content for better understanding by target audience.
Assesses risks and identifies issues and solutions to achieve program goals while maintaining quality standards. Monitors self-progress against schedule and takes remedial action as appropriate. Highly communicative with stakeholders, proactively and frequently informing them of the status and any potential roadblocks.
Qualifications
- BS or higher in English, technical writing or technical communications (required)
- 8+ years of experience designing, writing, and publishing technical documentation
- 3+ years of experience using XML/DITA-based authoring tools
- Ability to learn on the job and consistently use that learning
- Ability to organize in the face of competing demands
- Excellent planning and communication skills with team orientation - ability to work with a wide variety of individuals
Preferred
- 2+ years direct experience in semiconductor or electronics domain
- 3+ years of experience with creating/editing illustrations (using Visio, Illustrator)
