Key Qualifications:
- Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Deaf & Hard of Hearing or a valid California Special Education Credential authorizing instruction for this population
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Deep understanding of the academic, social, and developmental needs of deaf and hard of hearing students
- Effective communication, collaboration, and differentiation skills
- Previous experience in a similar school-based role is highly valued
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction for deaf and hard of hearing students in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Assess students’ abilities and progress, adjusting strategies to optimize learning outcomes
- Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to support full inclusion
- Advocate for students’ educational and communicative access within the school community
- Document and maintain records in compliance with state and federal guidelines
