Education Law Attorney
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid)
Compensation: $170,000 - $210,000 + Bonus
A well-established California law firm representing public educational institutions is seeking an Education Law Attorney to join its growing team in Los Angeles. This is an outstanding opportunity for attorneys who enjoy advising public entities, handling complex legal matters, and making a meaningful impact on schools and educational communities throughout California.
Previous education law experience is not required. The firm is open to attorneys with backgrounds in civil litigation, trial practice, public law, municipal law, labor and employment, or other related practice areas who are interested in transitioning into education law.
Position Overview
Attorneys in this role advise and represent public school districts, county offices of education, and other educational institutions on a wide variety of legal matters. Responsibilities may include litigation, administrative proceedings, investigations, governance issues, policy development, compliance matters, and day-to-day legal counseling.
This role offers substantial client contact, courtroom and hearing experience, and the opportunity to develop expertise in a highly specialized and rewarding practice area.
Qualifications
- Active California Bar license
- Experience in civil litigation, trial practice, public law, municipal law, labor and employment, or a related field
- Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage matters independently while collaborating with a team
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Interest in advising public entities and educational institutions
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is $170,000 – $210,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic market considerations. Additional performance-based bonus opportunities are available.
