Food Production Coordinator

Location: Vernon, CA
Pay Rate: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour DOE

The Food Production Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of a food production facility by coordinating workforce activities, maintaining strong relationships with employees and clients, and ensuring effective communication between departments. This role serves as a key point of contact for operational support and helps promote a safe, productive, and positive work environment.

The ideal candidate is professional, adaptable, organized, and capable of building strong working relationships while supporting production goals and company objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily operational activities to support production goals and customer requirements.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with employees, supervisors, clients, and business partners.
  • Serve as a liaison between management and production staff to ensure effective communication.
  • Support employee onboarding, orientation, and workforce coordination activities.
  • Monitor attendance, staffing levels, and workforce needs while communicating updates to management.
  • Assist with scheduling and workforce planning to support operational demands.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and operational documentation.
  • Address employee concerns professionally and escalate matters to management when appropriate.
  • Support production teams by identifying and communicating operational challenges and potential solutions.
  • Assist with client communications and provide timely updates regarding workforce and operational matters.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive workplace culture.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and departmental projects as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support business operations.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Maintain awareness of company safety policies, procedures, and workplace expectations.
  • Promote safe work practices and encourage compliance with established safety guidelines.
  • Promptly report workplace incidents, injuries, and safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor or designated personnel.
  • Assist with documenting workplace incidents and maintaining required records in accordance with company procedures.
  • Participate in safety meetings, trainings, and compliance initiatives as required.
  • Support efforts to maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in food production, manufacturing, operations coordination, staffing, customer service, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain professional relationships with employees and clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional and customer-service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's degree or higher in Business Administration, Operations, Human Resources, Supply Chain, or a related field is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to frequently move throughout the production facility to support operational needs.
  • Ability to regularly ascend and descend stairs multiple times throughout the shift.
  • Ability to travel between departments and production areas as needed.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform other physical movements as required.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures commonly found in food production facilities.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all facility safety requirements.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced food production and manufacturing environment.
  • Frequent interaction with production employees, supervisors, and clients.
  • Regular presence on the production floor to monitor operations and support employees.
  • Frequent movement throughout the facility, including multiple trips up and down stairs during the workday.
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required based on operational needs.

Schedule

Monday – Friday.
