We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Temporary Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience processing payroll through Paycom and managing payroll for a diverse workforce that includes seasonal, non-exempt, and exempt employees.
This role requires a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, responsiveness, and the ability to meet strict payroll deadlines. Food manufacturing industry experience is highly preferred.
Essential Functions
- Process weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time using Paycom.
- Administer payroll for seasonal, hourly (non-exempt), salaried (exempt), and temporary employees.
- Review timecards, attendance records, pay adjustments, deductions, bonuses, and other payroll-related transactions for accuracy and compliance.
- Audit payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies before payroll processing.
- Run, analyze, and distribute payroll, labor, attendance, and compliance reports from Paycom.
- Support payroll-related onboarding and employee data maintenance as needed.
- Respond promptly and professionally to employee and management payroll inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations.
- Maintain payroll records with a high level of confidentiality and accuracy.
- Partner with Human Resources, Finance, and Operations teams to resolve payroll issues and ensure accurate employee records.
- Assist with payroll reconciliations, year-end activities, and special projects as assigned.
- Support audits and provide payroll documentation when requested.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3–5 years of payroll processing experience.
- Strong working knowledge and experience with Paycom Payroll and Reporting.
- Experience processing payroll for seasonal, non-exempt, and exempt employees.
- Ability to generate, interpret, and analyze reports within Paycom.
- Solid understanding of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and payroll best practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the food manufacturing industry strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting high-volume payroll environments.
- Familiarity with shift differentials, overtime calculations, seasonal workforce management, and manufacturing labor reporting.
Working Conditions
- Onsite position; remote work is not available.
- Office environment within a plant; subject to loud noise, dust, steam, etc.
- Must be able to lift files up to 15 pounds.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
