Position: Food Processing QC Tech
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Location: Tracy, CA
Schedule: Training on 1st Shift (First Month) | Transition to Swing Shift After Training
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Food Processing QC Technician to support quality assurance operations in a fast-paced food production environment. This position is responsible for monitoring product quality, food safety standards, sanitation programs, and regulatory compliance to ensure products meet company and USDA requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and food safety.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect production areas, equipment, and facility conditions prior to production startup.
- Conduct ATP testing and environmental swabbing to monitor sanitation effectiveness and bacteria levels.
- Calibrate thermometers and other quality measurement instruments.
- Perform N60 testing and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) inspections.
- Monitor and document Critical Control Point (CCP) temperatures and related food safety data.
- Complete daily quality control inspections and product quality checklists.
- Maintain accurate quality records and documentation.
- Utilize systems including Alchemy, SOPs, and Microsoft Office applications to support quality programs.
- Assist in maintaining BRC certification standards and preparing for third-party audits.
- Monitor employee compliance with food safety, quality, and sanitation procedures.
- Identify quality concerns and communicate findings to supervisors and management.
- Investigate quality issues and assist with corrective and preventive actions.
- Follow all safety procedures, Job Hazard Analysis requirements, and company policies.
- Collaborate with production, sanitation, and management teams to ensure quality objectives are achieved.
- Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous quality control, quality assurance, food safety, or food manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience working in a food processing or food production environment is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of GMPs, sanitation practices, and food safety principles.
- Familiarity with USDA regulations, CCP monitoring, and quality documentation preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to accurately collect, document, and analyze quality-related data.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a food production environment with varying temperatures.
- Ability to lift, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks as needed.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
