Responsibilities

  • Set up and install advanced wafer-processing and vacuum-based equipment to ensure proper configuration and system readiness.
  • Perform daily preventive maintenance on vacuum-based and wafer-processing equipment to keep systems fully functional and reduce downtime.
  • Interpret and apply schematics, diagrams, drawings, and written procedures to support equipment setup, testing, troubleshooting, and recovery activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve faults and performance issues on vacuum-based equipment using high-precision electrical, optical, mechanical, and vacuum test equipment.
  • Develop, execute, and document experimental test plans, including collecting, organizing, and analyzing data to validate equipment and process performance.
  • Partner closely with Development Engineers during system integration and new product introduction (NPI) builds to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues.
  • Support engineering activities such as design verification, testing, modification, fabrication, and assembly of electromechanical and vacuum subsystems.
  • Participate in cross-functional, small-team initiatives to address product-level challenges, including design improvements, supplier issues, manufacturing escalations, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Manage and maintain internal inventory and spare parts to support efficient lab and development operations, ensuring critical components are available when needed.
  • Perform calibration tasks on equipment and test instruments to maintain accuracy and reliability of measurements and system performance.

Essential Skills

  • Experience supporting engineering activities such as design verification, testing, modification, and assembly of electromechanical systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Organizational skills to manage and maintain inventory and spare parts in a lab or development environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with vacuum-based equipment is highly beneficial.
  • Experience with wafer-processing equipment is a strong plus.
  • Background as an engineering technician in industries such as medical devices or other high-technology fields is considered relevant and transferable.
  • Familiarity with calibration of equipment and test instruments is advantageous.
  • Interest in supporting new product introduction (NPI) and system integration activities in a rapidly growing technology environment.

Work Environment

You will work in a lab and development environment that focuses on advanced wafer-processing and vacuum-based equipment used in support of data center and AI-related growth. The role involves frequent hands-on work with electromechanical and vacuum subsystems, high-precision test instruments, and calibration activities. You will collaborate closely with Development Engineers and cross-functional teams on system integration, new product introduction, and continuous improvement initiatives. The environment emphasizes reliability, preventive maintenance, and rapid troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime.
