We are seeking a Manufacturing Bioprocess Technician I to produce medicine in a highly automated and controlled environment within a current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) setting. You will follow product-specific recipes and standard operating procedures to operate production equipment across raw material dispensing/aliquoting, cell culture, and purification while maintaining accurate records and complying with regulatory requirements. This role supports the Single-Use Manufacturing Facility and may interface with Production Services, Upstream Manufacturing, and Downstream Manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Comply with all safety requirements, cGMP, SOPs, and manufacturing documentation; promptly report safety and environmental incidents.
- Utilize automated systems to operate, clean, and sterilize production equipment.
- Operate small-scale cell culture areas using aseptic techniques; maintain cell banks; perform seed lab operations.
- Operate fermenters, centrifuges, harvest systems, and protein purification units.
- Operate large-scale column chromatography systems.
- Prepare solutions required for production, including media and buffer make-up.
- Support Production Services activities such as weighing and aliquoting raw materials, washing, autoclaving, and environmental monitoring as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in English for reading, writing, and communication.
- Computer literacy with experience using Microsoft and Google platforms; ability to learn automated manufacturing systems.
- Ability to work all shifts with required overtime; ability to stand for extended periods and climb multiple flights of stairs.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work in cleanroom environments with required gowning (scrubs, bunny suits, gloves, hair covers, safety glasses, steel toe boots).
- Willingness to forgo makeup and jewelry in cleanrooms; no personal electronic devices without formal approval.
- Ability to work with hazardous materials and chemicals safely.
- Ability to pass job-related tests and certifications for cGMP and quality requirements.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Skills:
- Degree in Life Sciences or Engineering, Associate’s degree, or Biotech certificate from an approved program.
- Experience in single-use manufacturing operations, chromatography, aseptic techniques, or seed lab operations.
