This contract opportunity is ideal for Speech-Language Pathologists eager to support students from preschool through middle school. You’ll be working in San Juan Capistrano, serving students across a preschool, an elementary, and a middle school as part of temporary leaves of absence. With an average caseload of about 55 students per SLP, you’ll have a unique chance to address a diverse range of communication needs and make a real difference in the lives of children at critical ages.

Your assignment could start as soon as possible, spanning from September through December, with a strong likelihood of extension through the academic year. Reliable professionals are highly valued, as the district often transitions leave coverage into longer-term opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences
  • Active California SLP license required
  • Previous school-based SLP experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Adept at working with varied age groups, including preschool, elementary, and middle school students

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech and language therapy to student caseloads averaging 55 per SLP
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and progress reports
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Support students’ academic and social engagement through targeted interventions
  • Participate in IEP meetings as needed
