Medical Assistant (Front + Back Office) – Dermatology Practice
Location: Century City, Los Angeles, CA
Position Type: Full-Time
Our busy and growing cosmetic and medical dermatology practice in Century City is looking for a motivated, compassionate, responsible, personable, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. We are specifically seeking candidates interested in pursuing medical school, PA school, or NP school. The Medical Assistant will primarily support and work directly with the PA-C throughout the day.
Looking for the right fit – someone who is eager to learn, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys both patient care and administrative responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Back Office Duties
- Rooming patients and obtaining medical histories
- Assisting provider with medical and cosmetic dermatology procedures
- Preparing treatment rooms and instruments
- Taking clinical photographs
- Assisting with biopsies, suture removal, injections, laser procedures, and cosmetic treatments
- Cleaning and sterilizing instruments
- Managing supplies and stocking rooms
- Documenting patient information in EMR
Front Office Duties
- Greeting and checking in patients
- Scheduling appointments and managing provider calendar
- Answering phones and responding to patient inquiries including emails
- Processing payments and assisting with patient paperwork
- Coordinating prescriptions, referrals, and prior authorizations
- Maintaining a polished and welcoming patient experience
- Help maintain clinic cleanliness and organization, including washing patient gowns and laundry as needed
- Responsible for coordinating pharmaceutical rep lunches, placing meal orders, and assisting with meeting setup
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or currently pursuing a healthcare-related career path preferred
- Ideal for pre-med, pre-PA, or pre-NP candidates seeking clinical experience
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Professional, reliable, and team-oriented
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Prior medical office or dermatology experience is a plus, but willing to train the right candidate
- Applicants must be able to commit to at least one year in the position.
