Johnson Service Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented In Vivo Research Associate (No PHD) to support preclinical research programs. This role involves hands-on work with small laboratory animals and the execution of complex in vivo studies to advance the research pipeline. The ideal candidate is scientifically curious, highly organized, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
Schedule - Monday-Friday(8a-5p PST). Occasional weekends.
Pay range: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and support in vivo studies, including dosing, sampling, tissue collection, and clinical observations
- Perform compound administration across multiple routes, with emphasis on intravenous dosing in rodents
- Handle and care for small laboratory animals, including bleeding and veterinary support activities
- Train and assist staff in proper animal handling and experimental procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional research teams to design and execute studies
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper study setup, including diet preparation and monitoring
- Manage animal ordering and oversee husbandry, including weekend room checks and emergency response
- Execute tightly controlled experiments, analyze data, and present findings to project teams
- Ensure compliance with protocols and maintain accurate documentation
Required Skills & Experience
- Candidate should be flexible and open to cover during weekend whenever needed.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: PK, oncology , cardio metabolic disease and biologics.
- Hands-on experience with small laboratory animals, including dosing, bleeding, and tissue handling
- Experience in one or more areas such as pharmacokinetics (PK), oncology, cardiometabolic disease, or biologics
- Ability to independently execute complex in vivo experiments with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical skills and scientific curiosity to understand biological mechanisms and study outcomes
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
Education & Experience
- Associate degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, OR
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR
- Master’s degree with 1+ year of relevant in vivo experience
- Degree in biology, animal sciences, pharmacology, molecular/cellular biology, chemical biology, or a related discipline
- Additional industry experience in in vivo research is preferred
