Job Description

Job Description Ready to lead complex lines with confidence?

At Heritage Bag — Can Liner Division, we’re looking for a senior operator who can own blown-film extrusion and bag-making from setup to finished pallet. If you excel at balancing safety, quality, and speed, you’ll feel at home here.

Is this you?

  • Do you know blown-film extrusion and how to keep bubble, gauge, and layflat dialed in?
  • Can you switch between products quickly—screens changed, blades swapped, Teflon tape refreshed—without losing throughput?
  • Are you comfortable on bag lines (including Glouster 418–type and CMD Rotary machines with winders)?
  • Will you track production and scrap precisely, then wrap, weigh, and secure pallets for shipment?
  • Do you speak up early when equipment needs attention and work smoothly with maintenance and supervisors?

What you’ll do

  • Operate blown-film extrusion equipment to produce film for trash can liners
  • Run bag-making equipment for plastic bag conversion
  • Prepare and execute line changeovers for varied product runs
  • Complete routine machine inspections (screens, blades, Teflon tape)
  • Report equipment issues promptly to leadership and maintenance
  • Monitor quality and output against production standards
  • Enter production and scrap data accurately
  • Wrap, weigh, and secure pallets of finished goods
  • Enforce safety policies and model safe behaviors
  • Provide coverage during breaks, meals, and shift transitions
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

What you’ll bring

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Manufacturing experience with 3+ years as a machine operator
  • Proven experience on blown-film extrusion lines
  • Ability to operate Glouster 418–type bag machines (preferred)
  • Experience with CMD Rotary bag machines and winders (preferred)
  • Comfort with polyethylene resin conveying and blending systems
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Basic computer literacy

Core capabilities

  • Mechanical troubleshooting
  • Performing machine safety inspections
  • Configuring equipment for production runs
  • High School / GED

If you answered “yes,” we want to hear from you.
