Automotive Technician
Location: Newark, CA
Job Type: Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: $28–$35/hour on 1099, depending on experience
Contract Duration: Initial assignment through the end of 2026, with potential for extension.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our team in Newark, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong automotive technical experience combined with good digital and technology skills.
This is a hands-on opportunity for a technician who is comfortable working with vehicles, using digital tools and systems, and supporting a fast-paced automotive project.
Responsibilities
- Perform automotive diagnostics, inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Troubleshoot vehicle systems and identify mechanical or technical issues.
- Use digital tools, diagnostic equipment, and computer-based systems as required.
- Follow safety procedures and established automotive service standards.
- Document work performed and maintain accurate service records.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding vehicle status and technical issues.
- Support weekend work when needed based on project requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Automotive Technician or in a similar automotive role.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
- Good digital and computer skills with the ability to learn and use new systems.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
- Flexibility to support occasional weekend work when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with OEM or luxury vehicles
- Automotive technician certification (ASE or equivalent)
- Experience with electric vehicles (EV)
- Familiarity with ADAS systems (diagnosis, repair, calibration)
- Experience with fabrication, wiring, or harness building
- EPA 609 Certification or OEM Master Technician Certification
- Previous senior or lead technician experience
