Connections Mental Health is dedicated to providing compassionate, client-centered care in a safe and supportive environment. We are seeking a reliable and motivated Mental Health Technician to join our team and help support clients throughout their treatment journey.
Position Overview
As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining a structured, therapeutic environment while ensuring client safety and well-being. Responsibilities include client intakes, medication observation, documentation, monitoring clients, and supporting daily operations within the facility.
Essential Responsibilities
- Complete client intakes and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Assist with medication passes as directed
- Conduct routine client rounds and observations
- Monitor client behavior and ensure compliance with facility rules and expectations
- Maintain accurate and timely charting
- Assist with organizing client files and administrative documentation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and treatment team members
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and crisis situations
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- CPR and First Aid Certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Experience in behavioral health, mental health, addiction treatment, healthcare, or related field preferred
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds
- Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities
Health & Safety Requirements
- TB test completed within one year prior to hire or within seven (7) days of employment; annual testing thereafter
- Pre-employment health screening required
- Must successfully complete a Livescan/background check in accordance with California law
