Behavioral Health Technician — 4-Day Week (Thu–Sun Days) | Perfect for Students | Cardiff
One Path Mental Health is a new six-bed residential mental health program in Cardiff-by-the-Sea. We support adults in recovery in a real home by the coast, and we're building our founding team. This role is built for people building something else too: grad students, second careers, artists, parents — anyone who wants meaningful work AND a life.
THE SCHEDULE
Four 8-hour shifts: Thursday through Sunday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (32 hours/week). Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday off — every week, guaranteed.
SCHEDULE NOTE — 10-HOUR SHIFTS COMING: All roles begin on the 8-hour schedules shown. Around day 35, we anticipate moving to 4-day/10-hour alternative workweek schedules through the employee secret-ballot election California law requires — and as a founding team member, you get a vote. (Days-off patterns may adjust if adopted.)
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Walk alongside residents through their day — breakfast, groups, outings, goals
• Keep the home safe, warm, and running: activities, meals, daily living support
• Observe medication self-administration and document care in our EHR (full training provided)
• De-escalate with skill and compassion — we train you in exactly how
• Be part of a small founding team where your voice actually shapes the program
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• 18+, HS diploma/GED, authorized to work in the U.S.
• Psychology/social work/human services students: this is the résumé-builder — real behavioral health hours in a licensed program
• Experience in care work of any kind valued; heart and reliability required
• CPR/First Aid current or obtained before start; background check & TB after conditional offer (Live Scan arranged and paid by us)
PAY
$18.00–$20.00/hour DOE • Paid orientation & training • Weekend differential conversations welcome for the right candidate
