- 1+ year of experience working with CNC mills preferred

- Basic understanding of machine controls and blueprints preferred
FULL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a CNC Mill Operator to support CNC mill operations in a manufacturing environment. This temp-to-hire role is responsible for running parts, working from travelers, prints, setup sheets, work instructions, and engineering drawings, using precision measuring tools, handling materials safely, maintaining traceability, supporting machine upkeep, and keeping the work area clean and organized. The ideal candidate will have CNC mill experience, basic machine control knowledge, experience using micrometers and calipers, and the motivation to learn, grow, and support a busy, team-oriented shop environment.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Operating CNC mills to run machined parts
- Working from travelers, prints, setup sheets, work instructions, and engineering drawings
- Acquiring travelers, prints, setup sheets, program files, and materials needed for assigned jobs
- Verifying material tags to travelers
- Verifying material counts
- Loading programs and supporting machine operation
- Using basic machine controls
- Using precision measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers
- Checking accessible dimensions as parts are milled
- Maintaining traceability by updating travelers and required documentation
- Deburring parts as each operation is completed
- Handling products safely and properly throughout the manufacturing cycle
- Identifying nonconforming product and escalating issues as needed
- Supporting first article inspection activities as needed
- Acquiring cutters, tooling, and tooling aids
- Setting tool and work offsets as trained
- Making minor program edits as trained
- Adjusting cutter compensation and work offsets as trained
- Cleaning machine chips daily
- Maintaining machine fluid levels daily
- Disposing of recycled chips and waste fluids in proper designated areas
- Cleaning and maintaining the work area at the end of each shift
- Returning setup sheets and tooling boxes to the tool room
- Requesting replacement tools as needed
- Supporting safe work practices, AS9100 requirements, and FOD prevention
- Assisting other departments as needed
- Using downtime productively
- Performing other duties as assigned
The selected candidate will also possess:
- 1+ year of CNC mill experience preferred
- Fanuc control experience preferred
- Experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis mills preferred
- CNC setup experience preferred but not required
- Experience using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools required
- Basic understanding of machine controls preferred
- Basic understanding of blueprints preferred
- Experience loading and running parts preferred
- Experience working with travelers, prints, setup sheets, and work instructions preferred
- Ability to handle product safely and properly throughout the manufacturing cycle
- Ability to identify nonconforming product
- Awareness of AS9100 requirements relevant to assigned tasks preferred
- Ability to identify and prevent foreign object debris or damage
- Strong attention to detail
- Motivated, reliable, and team-oriented work habits
- Willingness to learn additional machines and processes
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English preferred
- Ability to work onsite in Spring Valley, CA
- Ability to work Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM and Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Ability to support a temp-to-hire opportunity
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for 5 or more hours per day
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, push, pull, lift, carry, and move throughout the shop and manufacturing areas as needed
- Ability to use hands and fingers for machine operation, tooling, measuring, deburring, documentation, material handling, and standard shop tasks
- Ability to operate CNC mill equipment and work around machining processes, tooling, cutters, fixtures, chips, fluids, and related shop materials
- Ability to visually inspect parts, dimensions, travelers, prints, setup sheets, machine controls, and work instructions
- Ability to use precision measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers
- Ability to clean machine chips daily and maintain a tidy machine and work area
- Ability to handle materials and machined parts safely throughout the manufacturing process
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment as needed
- Ability to work in a manufacturing/shop environment while following applicable safety, quality, AS9100, FOD prevention, and site procedures
Salary Range: $22 to $32/hour
