Job DescriptionProject Manager About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with proven ground-up OSHPD healthcare construction experience to lead complex hospital and medical facility projects across Southern California. This role oversees projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring full compliance with California healthcare building regulations and delivering predictable, high-quality outcomes.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, inspectors, and regulatory agencies while partnering closely with field leadership to drive schedule, cost, safety, and quality performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership and Execution
- Manage ground-up OSHPD healthcare construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
- Lead development of the Project Management Plan, including budgets, schedules, procurement strategies, and risk controls.
- Oversee daily project execution in partnership with the Superintendent to ensure alignment on schedule, logistics, and quality.
Regulatory and Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHPD standards, California building codes, and healthcare construction regulations.
- Coordinate with OSHPD inspectors, regulatory agencies, and third-party consultants to maintain compliance throughout all phases.
Financial and Contract Management
- Develop and manage project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial reporting.
- Administer contracts, subcontracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications.
- Support preconstruction with constructability reviews and value engineering.
Scheduling and Coordination
- Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules and milestone plans.
- Lead project meetings and coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure clear communication across all stakeholders.
Quality, Safety, and Closeout
- Maintain rigorous safety and quality control standards across all project activities.
- Oversee project closeout, including punch lists, as-builts, commissioning coordination, and turnover documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of OSHPD healthcare construction experience, including ground-up hospital or medical facility projects.
- Proven ability to manage projects ranging from $10M to $100M and above.
- Strong knowledge of California building codes and healthcare construction regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, MS Project, or Primavera.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
