Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Empower students with visual impairments to achieve their fullest potential in a supportive contract role for the upcoming school year. This opportunity focuses on providing specialized instruction, accommodations, and encouragement to K-12 students with visual impairments across a school-based setting near Littlerock, CA. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, adapt curriculum, and help ensure each student receives the resources and advocacy they need to succeed in their educational environment.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid state teaching certification with an endorsement in Visual Impairments or equivalent credential
  • Degree in Special Education, Visual Impairment, or a related field
  • Previous experience working as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of braille instruction, assistive technology, and mobility techniques
  • Ability to craft Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and implement tailored modifications
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning experience

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver academic instruction and life skills training to students with visual impairments, adapting lessons as needed
  • Assess student needs, document progress, and provide ongoing input for IEP development and review
  • Implement and support the use of assistive technology and braille materials
  • Advocate for student independence both in and out of the classroom
  • Partner with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to create an optimal learning environment
  • Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and professional development related to visual impairment education
