Summary
- Seeking an experienced CNC Mill Setup/Operator to support precision machining operations on complex 5-axis CNC milling equipment.
- Responsible for machine setup, operation, inspection, troubleshooting, and maintaining quality standards for precision components.
- Opportunity to work with advanced multi-axis machining technology in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate 3 to 5-axis CNC milling machines and/or mutli-axis lathes to produce precision components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T specifications.
- Install and secure tooling, fixtures, and workpieces for machining operations.
- Load, verify, and adjust CNC programs and machine offsets as needed.
- Optimize machine parameters and cutting conditions for various materials.
- Perform first article and in-process inspections using CMMs, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Monitor production runs and make adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
- Complete setup documentation, inspection records, and production logs.
- Troubleshoot machining issues including tool wear, chatter, and dimensional deviations.
- Collaborate with engineering and programming teams to improve machining processes and efficiency.
- Assist with training and supporting other machine operators as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of CNC milling or turning experience.
- Strong understanding of multi-axis machining principles and workholding methods.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and apply GD&T concepts.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
- Experience with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, or similar preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a machining environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
