Job Title: Sterile Processing Production Technician
Location: Long Beach, CA 90805
Duration: 14 Weeks
Employment Type: Contract
Work Schedule
- Day Shift: 5x8 Hours
- Timing: 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Compensation
- Local Candidates: $1,000 – $1,100 per week
- Traveler Candidates: $1,000 – $1,200 per week
Job Summary
The Sterile Processing Production Technician supports daily sterile processing operations, with a focus on loaner and consignment tray management, workflow efficiency, and quality assurance. This role ensures proper handling, tracking, and sterilization of surgical instruments while maintaining compliance with established standards and regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesLoaner & Consignment Tray Support
- Receive and inspect incoming loaner and consignment trays for accuracy and completeness
- Verify tray contents before and after sterilization according to established standards
- Track trays throughout the sterilization and return cycle in collaboration with leadership
- Communicate with vendors and team members to ensure timely processing
Production Workflow & Instrument Flow
- Support daily production flow and assist in prioritizing workloads
- Identify and escalate discrepancies related to tray contents, timing, or documentation
- Maintain organized workspaces to support operational efficiency
Communication & Collaboration
- Coordinate with leadership and team members to align on priorities
- Assist with vendor coordination, delivery confirmations, and documentation
- Maintain professionalism and reliability in all interactions
Documentation & Quality Assurance
- Accurately document tray tracking and sterilization records
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards
- Support quality assurance initiatives and process improvements
Requirements
Certifications:
- CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or
- CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) required
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on sterile processing experience
- Experience with loaner and consignment trays required
Skills & Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards and workflows
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
