This role is a temporary position lasting between 4 and 6 weeks.
Job Objective: Carry out cleaning, disinfection and sanitation works in food production facilities, such as farms, crops and industrial plants, to contribute to the fulfillment of the daily and weekly work plans of each project, in alignment with the sanitation standards agreed with our clients and national and international good practices of Industrial Safety and GMP's.
Essential Job Functions:
- Clean, disinfect and sanitize the tools and work equipment; check that your equipment and work tools are in good condition, if not, report it to the Team Leader.
- Report any unsafe acts or conditions in your work area.
- Take care of chemical products, do not waste them (adhere to what the procedure says in their application).
- Take care of the facilities, make good use of hoses, fixed and mobile skimmers.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure work meets established standards.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard toe and slip/oil resistant shoes, appropriate safety gloves, and harness, etc.)
- Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per the standard(s) provided by company, customer, and/or governing bodies.
- Prepare production equipment for cleaning and follow necessary lock out/tag out procedures when doing so.
- Use equipment cleaning chemicals and follow chemical usage and safety as indicated by the labels for application.
- Self-Inspect and sanitize, foam, scrub and rinse assigned areas and production equipment ensuring that all areas meet Food Safety and Food Quality standards including but not limited to: CIP and sanitize, foam, scrub, and rinse production equipment, all conveyors, conveying equipment, drip pans, rails, floors and drains, ceilings and walls in accordance to established procedures.
- Verifies and validates sanitation effectiveness with visual inspection and chemical concentration testing.
- Confirm proper sanitation by monitoring printouts or manual documentation.
- Store all chemicals and safety equipment properly.
- Ensure that minimum downtime is experienced during sanitation and pre-operational inspections.
- Other roles and responsibilities may be assigned.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Ability to read and understand chemical technical data sheets.
- Ability to perform tasks in accordance with safety protocols to prevent accidents and contamination.
- Ability to operate industrial cleaning machines (e.g., pressure washers, floor scrubbers).
- Ability to identify potential sanitation issues before they become problems.
- Ability to perform task in confined places, heights with lifelines, narrow places, etc.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in performing tasks to ensure all areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
- Time Management: Efficient in managing time to complete cleaning tasks within scheduled times.
- Physically Fit to perform moderate physical work.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Body movements of turning the head and torso, bending, reaching and flexing the arms, bending the wrists and use of the hands, grasp, handle or feel objects, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

- English proficiency required; Spanish bilingual skills preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Work Schedule: Weekdays (Monday-Friday) but weekends, afternoon, evenings and overnight may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.
- Work Environment: Operating in a fast-paced Operations with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection, and temperatures can get very hot and/or relatively cold. The environment is structured and supervised.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee may be exposed to hot, cold, wet and/or humid conditions.
Education and Experience:
- Highschool diploma or General Education degree (GED) required.
- One year of experience as a sanitation or janitorial worker in a warehouse or food processing environment is preferred.
- Experience in confined places, heights with lifelines, narrow places.
