Machine Shop Support

Pay: $18/hr
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire, Temp to Hire
Schedule: M-F 7:30am-4:30pm, Occasional Saturdays. Must be open to overtime as needed.

Our client is looking for a Metal Machine Shop Support to assist with daily production and shop operations. This role will support different areas of a metal production machine shop, including hot press operation, grinding, sand blasting, cleaning, basic maintenance support, and general production tasks.

This is a hands-on machine shop environment. Candidates must be comfortable working around machinery, heat, noise, dust, oil, metal, and dirty work areas. The shop can get extremely dirty, and the machines can make the environment hot, so this position is best for someone who is not afraid of physical, industrial work.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor hot press and induction press machines.
• Separate parts from molds and check that they meet specifications.
• Assist with grinding, sand blasting, cleaning, and general production support.
• Help keep up with machine pace and production needs.
• Support basic machine maintenance, tooling organization, and shop cleanup.
• Assist with hand tools, power tools, and other shop equipment as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and directions from leads or management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Machine shop, manufacturing, production, or mechanical experience preferred.
• Must be comfortable working in a hot, dirty, industrial machine shop environment.
• Must be willing to work around machines, metal parts, dust, oil, and noise.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Must be open to overtime as needed.
• Experience with hot press, grinding, sand blasting, mill, lathe, or maintenance is a plus.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is hands-on, reliable, mechanically inclined, and willing to help wherever needed in the shop. This role is a good fit for someone who understands that metal production machine shop work can be dirty, hot, and physical, but is looking for a long-term opportunity to grow.
