Job Overview

Join a national retail healthcare organization supporting seasonal vaccination clinics in local pharmacy settings. In this role, you will administer a range of immunizations including influenza, COVID-19, MMR, and other routine vaccines while providing patient education and direct nursing care in a community pharmacy clinic environment. PPE is provided.

This is a seasonal, demand-based assignment supporting vaccine season operations, with schedules and hours driven by clinic volume and staffing needs. The position is ideal for nurses with immunization experience who are comfortable working independently in a patient-facing clinical setting across multiple pharmacy locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer vaccines including Flu, COVID-19, MMR, and other routine immunizations
  • Review patient history and screen for vaccine eligibility and contraindications
  • Provide patient education on vaccines, side effects, and post-vaccination care
  • Monitor patients following administration and respond to any adverse reactions
  • Document all vaccine administration accurately in required systems
  • Administer medications within RN scope of practice as needed
  • Maintain compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff to support daily clinic workflow
  • Deliver professional, compassionate patient care in a retail pharmacy clinic environment
  • Adapt to changing patient volumes, locations, and scheduling needs
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical workspace
  • Work flexible hours within pharmacy operating schedules

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • 1 year of nursing experience preferred
  • Prior immunization or vaccination experience strongly preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (If BLS expires before end of 2026, candidate must provide renewal timeline)
  • Comfortable working independently in patient-facing clinical settings
  • Ability to work flexible and variable pharmacy-hour schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in retail clinic, occupational health, public health, urgent care, or community health settings
  • Prior experience working independently in clinical or patient-facing roles
  • Strong documentation and patient education experience

Store Assignment & Floating Requirements

  • Nurses will have a primary/home store when possible, but this is not guaranteed to remain fixed
  • Floating between multiple pharmacy clinic locations is required and likely
  • Candidates must be willing to travel between assigned stores as needed
  • Location assignments may change based on staffing needs and vaccine demand

Mileage, Travel, and Reimbursement

  • Mileage reimbursement applies only when traveling beyond 50 miles
  • Mileage is calculated from the candidate’s home store to the floated location
  • Example: 51 miles traveled = 1 mile eligible for reimbursement
  • Parking and toll reimbursement is case-by-case and requires district approval
