Accounting Manager - High Volume Law Firm
Job Description
Well-established, high-volume law firm with more than 1000 active cases at any given time, seeking a knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and experienced Accounting Manager.
Applicant must have proficient knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and corporate accounting principles. A strong command of QuickBooks, Excel, and to learn and become fluent with our in-house proprietary software utilized for case management and billing.
Responsibilities
- Accurately & independently manage all aspects of the accounting processes in a high-volume legal environment, including auditing and reconciling the operating account, the cost account and the client trust account.
- Oversee and process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including client billing and trust account management
- Perform credit card and cost reconciliation
- Supervise staff compliance to ensure proper billing practices are upheld
- General Ledger management and maintenance
- Conduct account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation
- Prepare and maintain financial reports for firm management
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
- Utilize QuickBooks and other financial software to streamline bookkeeping tasks and improve efficiency
- Create detailed financial reports for firm management
- Interaction with the firm's CPA and external auditors
- Manage client trust accounts and ensure compliance with legal industry regulations
- Process high-volume transactions efficiently while maintaining accuracy
- Support attorneys and staff with financial inquiries and reporting needs
- Otherwise support and communicate with office manager and managing attorney
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or like field
- Proven experience as an Accounting Manager, Full Charge Bookkeeper, or similar role
- 10+ years of accounting experience required
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Strong knowledge of debits, credits, and general accounting principles
- Working knowledge of corporate accounting practices and procedures
- Experience with legal industry accounting preferred (trust accounts, client billing, etc.)
- Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- General business knowledge
- Adaptable & friendly personality
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Supervisory experience preferred
Schedule & Location
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- Location: On-site in Glendora, CA
- Job Type: Full-time, Salaried
- Expected hours: 40 hours per week
- No weekends required
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $80,000 - $105,000 annually, based on experience

Experience Requirements
- Accounting/Bookkeeping: 10+ years (Required)
- Legal industry experience: Preferred but not required
- High-volume transaction processing: Preferred
- Supervisory experience: Preferred
