Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver/Personal Assistant to provide exceptional support to clients in their homes or community settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, assisted living, and home health services, demonstrating a genuine commitment to improving clients' daily lives through attentive caregiving and assistance with activities of daily living. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by delivering personalized care tailored to each individual's needs.

Duties

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, observe patient conditions, and communicate changes promptly to healthcare professionals.
  • Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with care plans and dietary restrictions, ensuring safety and hygiene standards are maintained.
  • Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
  • Support clients with memory care needs related to Alzheimer's disease or dementia by implementing specialized techniques and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a tidy living space to promote comfort and safety.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a positive environment that encourages independence and well-being.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments.
  • Knowledge of patient observation, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and emergency procedures such as CPR and first aid.
  • Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or dementia-related conditions including Alzheimer's and memory care.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required and operate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Excellent communication skills combined with compassionate interpersonal abilities to connect effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Relevant certifications such as CPR/First Aid are highly desirable; prior experience in hospice or home health care is advantageous.
