Job Title: CNC Machinist
Job Description
This role involves operating and programming CNC lathes, mills, and laser systems to produce high-quality parts with precision and efficiency. You will interpret engineering drawings, set up machines, monitor production, and ensure that all components meet strict specifications while maintaining a safe and organized work area.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain CNC lathes, milling machines, and other machining equipment to produce parts according to specifications.
- Review engineering drawings, blueprints, instructions, and samples to ensure accurate and consistent production.
- Take precise measurements for cutting, shaping, and finishing operations to achieve exact tolerances.
- Select appropriate machines, tooling, and settings for each task based on material and design requirements.
- Plan and sequence machining operations to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Monitor production runs and adjust feeds, speeds, and other parameters as needed to optimize performance and quality.
- Inspect finished parts for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments when necessary.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs to keep equipment in proper working condition.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with shop and safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals and support related tasks as needed.
- Utilize TIG welding techniques on stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals when required by the job.
Essential Skills
- Proven ability to operate CNC lathes, milling machines, and related machining equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Strong measurement skills and attention to detail for cutting, shaping, and finishing operations.
- Experience selecting appropriate tooling, machine settings, and process parameters for various materials.
- Capability to monitor and adjust feeds, speeds, and other machining parameters during production.
- Proficiency in inspecting finished parts for quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Experience with TIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial environment and properly use safety gear.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy equipment as required by the role.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with laser systems or other advanced CNC equipment.
- Previous Experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting with exposure to high-volume production.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain an organized work area in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment
This role is based in a dirty, industrial shop environment that can be loud when machines are running. The position follows a 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. schedule, Monday through Friday. The job is physically demanding and requires standing for long periods, lifting heavy equipment, and consistently wearing and using appropriate safety gear. You will work around CNC lathes, milling machines, and other industrial equipment in a production-oriented setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newark, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
