Job Description
- We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrical Technician to perform electrical repairs, maintenance, installations, and modifications to yard facilities, utilities, power distribution, and production equipment. The role involves ensuring safe and reliable operations of equipment through inspections and services using specified tools and test equipment. You will be responsible for filling out various required reports and documentation, performing installations, repairs, and maintenance on all electrical distributions throughout the facility, and addressing production equipment and portable production support equipment repairs. Other tasks relevant to the trade may be assigned.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical repairs and maintenance to yard facilities, utilities, power distribution, and production equipment.
- Conduct new installations and modifications to yard facilities, utilities, power distribution, and production equipment.
- Inspect equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations.
- Perform equipment services and repairs using specified tools and test equipment.
- Complete required reports and documentation such as work orders, inspection forms, discrepancy sheets, log books, and service forms.
- Execute installations, repairs, and maintenance on all electrical distributions throughout the facility.
- Repair production equipment and portable production support equipment in the facility.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years of building or construction electrical experience.
- Experience troubleshooting power distribution circuits up to 480v/3-phase.
- Knowledge of new electrical installations ranging from 120v to 480v, 3-phase.
- Ability to bend conduit by hand and using machines, including EMT and Rigid.
- Familiarity with Electrical Code and standards.
- Proficiency in Lock/Out Tag/Out procedures.
- Ability to read and troubleshoot equipment and systems from schematics, diagrams, and other manufacturers' documentation.
- Training in energy recognition, electrical safety protection equipment, and lockout/tagout procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Desirable experience with 4160v/12kv Transformer Stations Preventive Maintenance and switchgear operation.
- Trade school certificate in electrical training or equivalent work experience.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
