Responsibilities
Collect blood specimens from patients of all age groups using proper techniques to ensure sample integrity and patient safety.
Explain procedures to patients to foster a trusting and comfortable environment.
Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing, following established protocols.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of collection activities in compliance with facility policies.
Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for staff and patients.
Demonstrate professionalism and a positive attitude while promoting a professional image to patients and colleagues.
Perform daily tasks efficiently and accurately, adhering to process excellence standards.
Required Skills
Strong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patient populations.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent customer service skills for interacting with patients and staff.
Accurate keyboard and data entry skills for record keeping and documentation.
Additional Skills & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
A minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience is required; more than one year is preferred.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.
Experience in customer service within retail or service environments is a plus.
