Job Title: Supervisor - Echocardiology
Location: Mission Viejo, CA
Schedule: Full-time, 12-hour day shifts

Job Summary:
The Echocardiology Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Cardiology Department to ensure efficiency and quality in service delivery. This role works in partnership with department leadership to manage staffing, quality initiatives, and technical operations. Responsibilities include the development and implementation of quality improvement programs, employee recruitment and orientation, maintenance of personnel files, scheduling, annual performance reviews, and competency evaluations. This individual also performs all duties of a Registered Echocardiographer.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily department operations.
  • Maintain quality improvement processes and follow-up.
  • Handle recruitment, orientation, and training of new staff.
  • Maintain employee records, performance reviews, and competency assessments.
  • Provide technical guidance on equipment and procedures.
  • Perform echocardiographic procedures as outlined in the job description for Registered Echocardiographers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of an AMA-accredited Echocardiography program (minimum one year).
  • Certification upon hire by at least one of the following:
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDCS)
  • Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • At least 2 years of recent full-time experience in echocardiography.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in a related health care field.
  • Membership in a professional organization such as SDMS, SVT, AIUM, or ASE.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience.
