Job DescriptionFloating Community ManagerNorth Bay | Rohnert Park, CASalary: $100,000 annuallySchedule: Full-Time | Exempt | Monday-Friday | 9:00 AM-6:00 PMReady to Take Your Community Management Career to the Next Level?If you're an experienced Apartment Community Manager, Property Manager, or Multi-Family Community Manager looking for a leadership opportunity with greater variety, visibility, and impact, we'd love to meet you.The Floating Community Manager is a premier leadership role for an accomplished Community Manager who demonstrates operational excellence, develops high-performing teams, and delivers an exceptional resident experience.You'll begin by leading one of Rutherford Management Company's flagship North Bay communities as the Community Manager for approximately 60-90 days, giving you the opportunity to build strong relationships, learn Rutherford's culture, and establish operational leadership.Following this assignment, you'll transition into supporting communities throughout Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, and Marin. Our leaders work collaboratively, encourage innovation, and empower employees to make decisions that positively impact residents, teams, and the communities we serve.What You'll DoAs a Floating Community Manager, you'll lead both the operational and people side of apartment community management.Responsibilities include:Lead the day-to-day operations of conventional apartment communities.Drive occupancy, leasing performance, resident retention, and financial performance.Coach, mentor, and develop onsite leasing and maintenance teams.Manage budgets, reporting, rent collections, renewals, and operational performance.Maintain exceptional curb appeal and community standards.Conduct property inspections and identify opportunities for operational improvements.Resolve resident concerns with professionalism and urgency.Partner with Regional Managers on strategic initiatives and community performance.Support multiple communities during transitions, growth initiatives, vacations, or other business needs.Implement operational best practices that improve team performance and resident satisfaction.What Makes This Role Different?Unlike traditional Community Manager positions, this role provides the opportunity to expand your leadership across multiple communities while gaining exposure to different teams, operational challenges, and business strategies.It's an ideal next step for an experienced Community Manager who enjoys variety, leadership, and problem-solving.Required QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you'll need:3+ years of Community Manager experience in conventional multifamily housingPrevious property management experienceStrong operational and financial management skillsExperience managing budgets, occupancy, leasing, renewals, and resident relationsProject management experience preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong leadership and critical thinking abilitiesValid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the North Bay as business needs requireFrequently Asked QuestionsWhat communities will I support?You'll support conventional apartment communities throughout Rutherford Management Company's North Bay portfolio, including Marin County, San Francisco, Santa Rosa, and Rohnert Park. Is travel required?Yes. This position requires travel between North Bay communities as business needs arise.
