Direct Counsel is representing a prestigious AmLaw firm seeking a midlevel Intellectual Property Associate (1–5 years) to join its highly regarded Life Sciences Patent Prosecution practice.

This is an exciting opportunity for an attorney or patent agent with a strong scientific background and biotechnology patent prosecution experience to work with cutting-edge life sciences and emerging growth companies.
Responsibilities
- Handle sophisticated patent prosecution and IP counseling matters for innovative life sciences companies
- Advise clients in areas including:
- Antibodies
- DNA & RNA therapeutics
- Gene-editing technologies
- Chemical biology
- Molecular and cellular therapeutics
- Collaborate closely with emerging companies and scientific innovators on strategic intellectual property protection
Qualifications
- 1–5 years of biotechnology patent prosecution experience
- Advanced degree required, preferably a Ph.D., in a life sciences discipline such as:
- Molecular Biology
- Immunology
- Biochemistry
- Cell Biology
- Related scientific fields
- USPTO Registration Number / Patent Bar membership required
- Strong academic credentials and excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
Compensation
Expected salary range in Massachusetts: $225,000 – $435,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and market factors.
