A leading mechanical contractor is seeking a Site Safety Coordinator to support commercial mechanical construction projects throughout the Sacramento area. This role works closely with project managers, superintendents, foremen, and field teams to promote a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in the field, building relationships with project teams, and proactively identifying opportunities to improve jobsite safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across active construction projects
- Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections and identify potential hazards
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Lead new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns while preparing required documentation
- Maintain safety reports, inspections, and project documentation
- Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and subcontractors to address safety concerns proactively
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with project safety requirements
- Participate in project safety meetings and recommend continuous improvements
- Support successful project execution through proactive field safety leadership
Requirements
- 3+ years of construction safety experience required (mechanical construction preferred)
- Degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field preferred
- OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR certification required
- OSHA 500, CHST, STS-C, or other professional safety certifications preferred
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in the field
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record
- Comfortable working on active construction sites and around mechanical trades
