Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid California teaching credential required
- Prior experience as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher preferred
- Demonstrated ability to support and motivate students with diverse needs
- Strong knowledge of adaptive PE strategies and legal requirements
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Ability to travel to multiple school locations within the district (itinerant role)
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized adaptive physical education plans aligned with student needs and IEP goals
- Work closely with classroom teachers and special education staff to promote inclusive participation
- Monitor student progress and adjust programming as required
- Maintain detailed records and provide regular updates for IEP meetings and parent communications
- Engage students in energetic, creative, and supportive physical education activities
- Maintain compliance with district policies and state regulations
This position spans the academic year from August 11, 2026 through June 4, 2027, with a total of 184 days and a 35-hour workweek. Candidates will provide services exclusively in person at assigned school sites within the San Francisco district.
Compensation for this role is based on a competitive pay structure of $63 to $67 per hour.
