Pay: $25.00–$28.00/hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator / Medical Assistant to join a busy primary care clinic in Simi Valley. This role combines front office coordination with clinical medical assistant duties to provide exceptional patient care and support to providers.
Responsibilities:
- Greet, check in, and assist patients throughout their visit.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Verify insurance, update patient demographics, and obtain required signatures and consent forms.
- Collect co-pays and assist with billing-related documentation.
- Answer incoming phone calls and route messages appropriately.
- Prepare exam rooms and room patients for provider visits.
- Obtain and document vital signs.
- Assist providers with routine clinical procedures under supervision.
- Perform venipuncture, vision screenings, and audiometry when qualified.
- Process referrals and obtain insurance authorizations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using EPIC.
- Prepare, scan, file, and organize patient charts and medical records.
- Maintain office and medical supply inventory.
- Keep waiting and exam areas clean, organized, and patient-ready.
- Provide administrative and clinical support as needed to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Recent EPIC experience within the last 12 months is required.
- Previous experience as a Patient Care Coordinator, Medical Assistant, or similar outpatient healthcare role required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- CMA or RMA certification preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Audiometry and vision screening certification (or ability to obtain within six months) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, and medical office workflows.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced primary care environment.

- Recent Epic within the last 12 months: 1 year (Required)
- Insurance verification, Patient Registeration and Scheduling: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- BLS (Required)
- CMA or RMA (Required)
