Job Description

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching credential required
  • Experience with IEP development and implementation
  • Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction and behavior management strategies
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
  • Positive, flexible attitude and a deep commitment to supporting students with diverse needs
  • Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique strengths and goals
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies for students with mild to moderate or moderate to severe disabilities
  • Provide direct instruction, accommodations, and modifications as needed
  • Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate documentation
  • Partner with colleagues and families to advocate for students and support their academic, social, and emotional growth
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities
