As an Occupational Therapist, you’ll provide essential services across a diverse county setting, helping students reach their fullest potential at every stage of development. Your expertise will support children and adolescents as they overcome barriers and build foundational skills for academic and personal success.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid California Occupational Therapist license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric OT setting preferred
- Familiarity with interventions for a wide range of ages and developmental needs
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with families, educators, and other professionals
- Understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to travel within the county to multiple school sites as needed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students from infancy through high school
- Assess students’ functional abilities and develop individualized intervention plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and monitor IEP goals
- Provide direct therapy, consultation, and training for staff and families
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Adapt therapeutic strategies and plans based on evaluation and observation
- Promote inclusion and access in educational environments
