Job Description
We are looking for a yard goat operator with experience. Must be responsible for safely moving trailers, containers, and equipment within a warehouse, distribution center, or manufacturing yard using a yard truck (yard goat/spotter truck). This role ensures trailers are positioned efficiently for loading and unloading while maintaining compliance with company safety standards and supporting overall logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate a yard goat (spotter truck) to move trailers safely throughout the facility.
- Position trailers at loading docks according to warehouse schedules and shipping priorities.
- Transport empty and loaded trailers between staging areas, docks, parking locations, and storage yards.
- Inspect trailers and yard equipment before and after use, reporting any damage or mechanical issues.
- Verify trailer numbers, seal numbers, and shipping documentation before moving equipment.
- Coordinate with warehouse supervisors, shipping and receiving personnel, gate clerks, and dispatch to ensure efficient trailer movement.
- Maintain accurate records of trailer locations and movements using yard management systems (YMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), or handheld devices.
- Perform routine safety checks and ensure trailers are properly secured before transport.
- Maintain a clean and organized yard by parking trailers in designated locations.
- Follow all DOT regulations (when applicable), OSHA requirements, and company safety policies.
- Assist with other warehouse or yard duties as assigned.
