Job Summary:
The Weatherization Installer Technician is responsible for assisting and/or installing new energy-efficient measures, primarily home upgrade measures such as new lighting, doors, windows, insulation and removing old equipment. Performs all work with the highest quality and efficiency. This position is designed to be an entry point into our organization, with clear, defined pathways for advancement into senior roles as we grow and expand.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
· Assists and/or weatherizes homes or other buildings by repairing or installing new windows, insulating duct work, insulating attics, and maintaining heating, and ventilating systems.
· Identifies all material/equipment needed to complete the project. Insulates attics, crawl spaces, basements, or walls using various types of insulation.
· Seals duct work and vents; installs new air ducts when necessary.
· Follows company's handbook, and all company or customer safety and environmental policies.
· Keep the worksite clean and safely dispose of the material.
· Document all installed measures on the approved work order including any pertinent notes or customer concerns.
· Actively contributes as a member of the project crew, providing and supporting other members.
· Responds to customer inquiries.
· Ensures customer satisfaction with all measures installed.
· Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
· Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Required Skills/Abilities
· High proficiency with power tools.
· Experience in carpentry, plumbing, or construction field.
· Excellent communication and documentation skills.
· Work well both independently and as a member of a high-performance team.
· Punctuality and ability to meet daily schedules.
· Commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
· Must be able to pass all background and drug screens.
· Good driving record and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· At least one year of related experience or comparable training preferred.
· Proficient in English speaking and writing; bilingual is desired.
Working Conditions:
· Employee will be required to climb 6-ft to 10-ft ladders to access work.
· Employee will be required to work with power tools and operate equipment.
· Employee may come in contact with hazardous material and/or substances while working.
· Employee may need to lift up to 50lbs and requires full range of motion.
· Employee will be required to crawl and access confined spaces.
Employment Requirements:
· Attend utility program training and successfully complete all required tests.
· Obtain all necessary licensing according to utility program requirements.
· Employee must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
· Professional conduct and safety in customer’s home.
· Required to meet weekly production and van minimums.
