Responsibilities
- Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process
- Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, and coordinates care with other disciplines
- Applies critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment in care delivery
- Monitors patient status, administers medications per orders, and evaluates patient response
- Participates in discharge planning and patient education to support safe transitions
- Maintains thorough and accurate documentation of care provided and patient outcomes
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- ER nursing experience preferred; ability to work nights on a travel assignment
- Current BLS (American Heart Association) certification
- Ability to function effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced ED environment
- Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities
